Food: we had seafood pancakes, Korean fried rice, and many foods. We had three beers. Two soju flavors. The portions here are really really big. So be mindful when you order.
Service: we came on a weeknight, the service was really friendly. Other servers were checking out on our table too to make sure we were good that made me happy.
Ambiance: this place is urban vibes.
Plenty of parking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 20, 2024Updated review
We love coming here, sans kids. It's a cute little place. Good music, dim lights, and clean. We've been here at least three or four times, and every time the service has always been good. Attentive, positive and nice staff members.
The food was GOOD. This time we ordered the buttered squid, bossam, steamed egg and fries. Everything was delicious. The bossam was a huge portion. The steamed egg was ginormous. I guess I was expecting something small like they have at other tofu restaurants. This was a huge portion, and cooked and flavored perfectly. The fries were crispy. Again, a large portion. Overall, we had a great dinner. Definitely will be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 5, 2023Previous reviewWe visited this place twice in one week. The first time we visited, was after having dinner next door at Yuk Dae Jang. We order yogurt flavored soju, lychee and peaches, and fried squid legs. The lychee and peaches... I guess I was expecting fresh cut up fruits, but sadly they're from cans. The soju was delicious. The fried squid legs had too much batter, but it was a nice appetizer.
The next night we came back and ordered the bossam, Grilled Whole Squid with Butter, and The Spicy Seafood Soup with Pork. Everything tasted good. The bossam wasn't as flavorful as the bossam we had the night before at Yuk Dae Jang, but what do you expect when you're eating bar food. Overall, I loved this cute small joint. It's dark, clean, and they played hip hop music. The servers were really nice. This will definitely be our place to go whenever we are looking for a place to drink and eat Korean food. Young crowd. Plenty of parking. Price is pretty decent. - Apr 15, 20241 check-in
Service was amazing, food was tasty and had a good portion size. The place was dark and had loud music but you can still talk without having to shout. We ordered the following to share between 12:
Spicy rice cake with cheese
Bossam
Chicken wings -sweet & spicy
Chicken wings -soy
Army stew
Chicken gizzards
Stir fried squid
Seasoned Sea snail salad
Popcorn chicken
Our server also gave us a bottle of soju on the house after ordering 4 bottles, a pitcher of 805 and a bottle of Cloud.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 2, 2024
GOOD PLACE FOR PUB FOOD AND SOJU
I found soju tavern one day when my friends and I wanted to drink.
This place was the only thing open in the area.
The wait time was decent.
We have a party of 4 so I would assume anything above that would be a longer wait.
Soju was decently priced however the food was amazing.
The ambiance takes me back to late night pochas in Korea.
Will be coming backHelpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Mayra M.Bellflower, CA581213Apr 22, 2024
Came in at 9pm and the staff was very welcoming. Since our party just wanted a drink, we opted to stand by the small bar area. We were 6 standing and barely fit. Everyone is friendly, service is fast. Will definitely come again to eat and drink.

First time trying the sojurita and unless you're a heavyweight definitely bring another person with you because this thing is pretty strong.
I got the passion fruit flavor and that mixed well with the soju. I do wish that the passion fruit was a little bit more sour.
I also tried the chungha, which was a sparkling rice wine that was 7% alcohol. It tasted just okay, wouldn't get it again.
Overall, decent place for drinks and food. Probably will be back to try their food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2024
Actually really surprised at the quality of the food and how pleasant the service is. Definitely doesn't feel like a bar outside of the look and the music. Oddly enough, my kids love the whole Korean fried chicken and asked to eat it again lol. The bulgogi fries are fr fire though. We've also ordered the squid legs (which my kids love as well) and the seafood pasta which is a generous portion and pretty darn good.

Such a great local spot!
Love the ambiance and the food is a major upgrade from Knucks, which is what this spot took over.
I love going during happy hour for $10 soju.
The staff is great, super attentive.
Whenever I go, I always get the Short Ribs (Galbi) it comes out super caramelized and is already cut up by bone so is great finger food while drinking.
Cheese Corn, Fried Dumplings, and Fries are always good choices as well (and the fries are huge portions so great for sharing.)
I also LOVE the Beef Tartare and the Kimchi Pasta as well as Kimchi Fried rice. (If I had to choose one tho I'd go with the pasta.)
They're open late on the weekdays so if you're a night owl or have something to celebrate, I'd recommend coming here.
It does get packed on weekends tho so come early if you want a spot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 2, 2023
I've been a regular at Soju Tavern, and it never fails to impress me! The service here is consistently fantastic, and our waitress, in particular, was incredibly friendly and attentive during our recent visit. My little girls absolutely love the food here, making it a perfect family-friendly spot.
Now, let's talk about the food - the Salmon Kama, squid legs, oden fish cake soup, seafood pasta, chicken wings, fried chicken, stir-fried gizzards, and seafood pancake were all on point. Every dish burst with flavor and left us craving for more. Plus, the happy hour drink prices are an absolute great deal, making dining here even more enjoyable.
And let's not forget the highlight of the evening - the Soju and beer towers. They provided endless fun for me and my friends, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Soju Tavern truly delivers an all-around great dining experience that keeps us coming back for more!Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 1 - Jul 26, 2023

Let's be honest, there aren't a ton of drinking options that don't in include chain restaurants in Rowland/Hacienda Heights, so I'll take what I can get. With that prelude, Soju Tavern is a Korean watering hole complete with Korean bar food so basically my favorite kind of tavern.
Came here with my sister on a Saturday night and it wasn't terribly busy. We shared the following:
-French fries with bulgogi ($16.95)
-Korean sausage stew ($30.00): Korean army stew
-Korean whole fried chicken ($19)
The food was very okay. The bulgogi fries were way too sweet for my liking. Bulgogi is already marinated in sweetness so combined with the sweet sauce drizzles, this was a bit much for my tastebuds. The fried chicken was a little off-putting due to an unforeseen chicken-y stench to the chicken. No thank you.
Not a bad time, but the food could use a little help. It's the suburb K-town experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2
